…making a mere 1,500 at least according to the original ARTicle. You know, in the spirit of the blog, I can really SEE how someone could EASILY mistake the following Henry Moore “sculpture” for scrap metal:

In fact, now that I think about it, you know what this reminds me of…

This is why you don’t trip on acid while sculpting. Chicagoans seem to like this sort of waste of space and obstruction of public sidewalks, they put it in front of their Cook County administration building. To each his own.

Artonot #19: More stupid “art” on campus

Posted in art on April 23rd, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

The artist and sponsor were so ashamed of putting this up on the streets of my city that this “sculpture” isn’t even labeled. Or maybe they just forgot. In any case, what the hell is it supposed to be anyway??? A metallic library?

steel plates

Our Verdict: Stupid does not equal art.

Kapoor dubbed his shiny sculpture for Chicago’s Millennium Park “Cloud Gate” To most Chicagoans, it is simply known as “the bean” The maker of the 125-tonne legume is known for a similar work in New York City called “Sky Mirror” which reflects and inverts the skyline of the town if you look at it… Big Whoop, I bet most women can do that with their palm-sized cosmetic mirrors anyway…

Our Verdict: Hardly art…
