This one’s from a while back. Interesting happenings in the streets of Detroit. When you’ve got nothing to do, might as well become an artist…

Urban window art gets destroyed along with abandoned buildings in Detroit.

Posted in art on December 22nd, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

The Lafayette Building in downtown Detroit is about to get demolished. A lot of art (or not) will, unfortunately, have to go down with it. See for yourself. Is this stuff worth keeping around? If yes, then at what cost?

Street Sign Art

Just when I thought I had seen every kind of street art there is, signtologist of Denver comes up with yet another way of decorating trivial public property. It’s catchy, original, and it’s way easier on the eyes than a damn STOP SIGN (especially while driving). Only one question remains… is this truly bona fide art, or not? You be the judge.

Cool street artistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Posted in art on May 26th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Walk down the right back alley in Ann Arbor, and you WILL shit brix!

Been living in this college town for the past 4 years, and now that school is out and there are no classes to worry about, I am beginning to realize that I may have missed out on seeing the best of this tiny town during my time here. The real local bars and eateries that college kids rarely hear of, much less wander into, the best kept secrets in underground music venues, and of course, the graffiti. Just a few hours ago, on my way to the train station, I wandered down an alleyway I must have passed by dozens of times while a student. Yet the thought of exploring this tiny little enclave never crossed my mind before. Well, today I did it, and below are some of the products of my breathtaking detour.

Would you like to share some cool art (or not) from your college town or perhaps your hometown?

Artonot #35: Urban Art? We’ll go with the Guardian on this one – keep it on the street!

It’s about time we looked at some graffiti at Artonot. What’s your opinion?

Again, a far cry from Rembrandt. The label “urban art” is merely a poor excuse for artistic incompetence. Graffiti artists should go find a real profession and do something they’re actually good at.

I still can’t figure out why the standards for artistic creation have dropped so much since the Renaissance. How curious.
